During AFGE's 2011 Legislative and Grassroots Mobilization Conference, AFGE distributed materials to participants to share with members regarding AFGE's ongoing legislative issues around the House Continuing Resolution (CR) and budget cuts.  Here is the latest version of AFGE’s Fight Back Newsletter.  This edition includes an update on Congress’ just passed short term funding deal and details on the $61 billion in cuts passed by the House last month.

The newsletter is approved by GCO (see above) for circulation at the worksite.  Please feel free to download and print copies for immediate distribution with the restrictions noted above.  Copies can also be ordered by filling out the order form you will find at this website link: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dDI5REhTaTJaT2s1X1Vaal8tTXVGQ0E6MQ.   Please allow 3-5 days for shipping via UPS.

These newsletters have been distributed at the gates of DoD bases, through the wards of VAMC’s and the offices of SSA and have been very helpful in recent Lunch and Learns. If you have any events planned this month they are a good tool.

If you were unable to meet with their Senator(s) in the last couple of weeks, please continue to try and make appointments.  Conduct Federal oath events at Federal buildings and plan town hall meetings.

Please contact our Legislative Department at (202) 639-6952 let them know your scheduled events so National can know which members of Congress have been contacted and/or met with.
